The petition and its support

Read the petition to Council in full, and set out the breadth of support behind its 628 signatures — farming families whose sole income is from farming, businesses and employees whose livelihoods are linked to agriculture, rural living zone residents, and people in small rural communities and towns. Noted that agricultural returns are volatile and that the challenges of farming are difficult to grasp for those with no connection to it, and that similar committees already operate in other Victorian shires.
